The hook, accompanied by Syd tha Kid, expresses that despite how much Tyler hates his dad, he hopes that one day he’ll answer his phone and they’d talk. In the verses he sets off on his absent father, not holding back on the vicious insults. ANSWER (Featuring Syd tha Kid): One of the most personal songs on the album, it highlights the bipolarity of Tyler, which makes him such a fascinating specimen.

DOMO 23: It’s a high-energy self-parody hype-song full of cheesy jokes (I’m trippin’ balls, David Beckham), shock value, and plenty of bragging is fine on its own, but it feels sort of out of place in context of the rest of the album.Ħ. Frank Ocean drops by and delivers a hook at the end with his beautiful falsetto, which is never a bad thing.ĥ. “Goblin” would have ended the song with something twisted like cutting up the girl’s body, but instead “Awkward” is just a simple recounting of how he fell in love with a girl and how it quickly fell apart. AWKWARD (Featuring Frank Ocean): This song is a great example of how Tyler, the Creator has progressed since his last album. Even though Tyler’s flow is somewhat relaxed in this, he delivers some of his darkest lines such as “Ain’t been this F****** sick since brain cancer ate my granny up” or “I’m about as lonely as crackers that supermodels eat.” Consider this song the REAL start of the album.Ĥ. COWBOY: This is a very dark, introspective song about how much of a loner Tyler is, accompanied with grimy guitar chords. JAMBA (Featuring Hodgy Beats): “JAMBA” has a really interesting beat, and Hodgy Beats and Tyler the Creator have great flow, but the lyrics are not much more than these two bragging about how much money they have. It does a good job of setting the tone for the rest of the album crass, tasteless, yet oddly mesmerizing.Ģ. WOLF: This is an intro track that starts off with some beautiful piano chords, the tinkling of a xylophone, and some crooning harmonies, then it transitions into Tyler ad-libbing F-bombs tranquilly for about a minute with some horns and rolling drums in the background. Now flash-forward to 2013, where his much-hyped 3 rd album WOLF has finally come out. Some praise Tyler for his creative introspective lyrics, self produced beats and videos, and his worldview of the world, while some believe that he is the devil himself. His career skyrocketed into mainstream attention in 2011, with the music video “Yonkers ,” where he spits murky verses about stabbing his absent father and Bruno Mars, and he ends the video by hanging himself. There are only a few artists as polarizing as Tyler, the Creator.
